frequently asked questions
What type of music can be played on the harp?
Almost any type of music can be played, but not every song is technically possible. However, if you would like a specific song played, it is best to consult with me. I am a very versatile musician and will do my utmost to fulfil your wishes.
Can I have other instruments to play along with the harp, or even a singer?
Yes this can be arranged. I work with a number of other musicians and can also suggest a suitable instrument to go with the harp should you wish, or suggest a singer. Should you wish you provide a singer yourself who is perhaps a family member, this can also be discussed.
Does a harp require amplification?
For the wedding ceremony – both at a church or any other venue, amplification is not needed.
However, for the wedding reception, this depends on the number of people and venue. Always consult with me regarding these two very important points. Should amplification be needed, I generally use the same system provided which is generally used later by the following band, upon consultation with the service provider.
Would you be willing to play outdoors?
Yes this can be accommodated, provided that the harp is totally sheltered from the sun, wind and rain.
Who is responsible for the transportation of the harp?
I will take care of this, with the transport fee being included in the price.
Do I need to provide you with anything?
All I require is an armless chair or stool, and appropriate lighting.
What will happen if you or accompanying musicians are unable to attend due to unforeseeable circumstances such as sickness?
In the unlikely event of an emergency, I will immediately let you know and secure a substitute with whom I will take care that all performance details will still run smoothly. Only a professional and experienced musician will be selected through my network of respected musicians.
